Proposed multi-county agreement details authority overseeing new Georgetown business park

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) – Concerned citizens and community stakeholders convened in Scott County for an hours-long, specially called joint meeting of the Scott County Fiscal Court and Georgetown City Council centered on a proposed new business park.

“If the number is correct, and we could possibly put 1,400 jobs at this site – that’s $100 million annually that goes into our region,” said Scott Co. Judge-Executive Joe Pat Covington.

In addition to seeking funding through the Kentucky Product Development Initiative (KDPI), six different government entities across Scott, Fayette and Madison Counties will help fund the site off McClelland Circle in Georgetown.
