What is black ice? Indiana drivers warned by NWS to watch out after recent snowfall

Hoosiers should be especially cautious driving on Indiana’s highways, roads and residential streets Friday into this weekend, local meteorologists warn, because of black ice.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis warned motorists that slick spots will likely form on many road surfaces across Central Indiana after Thursday’s snow showers. NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook Friday urging drivers to be cautious during their evening commute.
