Remember loved ones: Celebrate Día de los Muertos with art activities, live music, bilingual story time and a community-sourced ofrenda. Guests are encouraged to bring small images of departed loved ones to add to the altar installed in the McLean County Museum of History’s rotunda. 5-8 p.m. Friday; free. mchistory.org.

I can’t put my arms down: On now at Community Players Theatre, a song and dance version of the heartwarming Bob Clark film centering on young Ralphie Parker and the quest for a Christmas miracle: a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-Shot Range Model BB gun under the Christmas tree. Diversions along the way include “double dog dares,” a department store visit with Santa, a secret decoder ring and a fra-GEE-lay “major award.” Through Nov. 17 at Community Players Theatre; tickets $20 at 309-663-2121 and communityplayers.org.
