The Edwardsville Tigers and Normal Community Ironmen play in the Class 3A Alton Sectional championship at 6 p.m. on Nov. 1 at Public School Stadium.
The third-seeded Tigers are 14-8-1 and won the Quincy Regional with wins of 4-0 over Quincy and 2-1 over O’Fallon. Edwardsville beat Southwestern Conference champion Belleville West 2-1 in the sectional semifinals on Oct. 29.
It was the 15 th regional championship for Edwardsville since Mark Heiderscheid took over as head coach in 2000. A win over Normal Community would give Heiderscheid his 11 th sectional title…
