BLOOMINGTON — A man from Forrest has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated battery of an officer, a Class 2 felony.

Daniel D. Smith, 35, appeared in court before Judge Amy McFarland on Monday afternoon for a sentencing appearing following his Sept. 24 plea.

John Bussan, who appeared on behalf of Smith, requested a continuance in the hearing to await additional evidence in mitigation. McFarland denied the request and the sentencing proceeded…
