The Southern Illinois women’s swimming and diving team secured a split decision during their recent meet, triumphing over Illinois State (227.5-72.5) but losing to Illinois (157-143). Star swimmer Olivia Herron broke the MVC record in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:58.80, also meeting the NCAA “B” qualifying standard. The team achieved 10 first-place finishes, including notable records set by Celia Pulido in the 100-yard backstroke and Susana Hernandez in the 200-yard freestyle. The Salukis continue to maintain their undefeated status in the MVC as they head into November. Upcoming competitions include hosting the A3 Performance Invitational from November 16-18.
