Cedars-Sinai receives $10 million from David and Meredith Kaplan

Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles has announced a $10 million gift from philanthropists David and Meredith Kaplan to support healthcare leadership goals.

Intended to advance healthcare innovation and support the goals of Cedars-Sinai president and CEO Peter L. Slavin, the gift will establish the David and Meredith Kaplan Presidential Chair. Slavin, who is completing his first 100 days at the helm of Cedars-Sinai, will be the inaugural chair holder. The gift will support Slavin’s vision to advance Cedars-Sinai’s mission as a model for quality care, research, education, and community service.

David Kaplan is a co-founder of Ares Management Corporation, a global investment management company, and chair of the Cedars-Sinai board of directors.
