Nevada sees dramatic increase in car thefts

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The state of Nevada is seeing a dramatic increase in car thefts, according to a new report from LendingTree.

Their report found that theft rose 33% in the Silver State, the ninth highest in the nation. LendingTree’s data shows that there were 11,481 vehicle thefts in Nevada in 2020 and 15,279 vehicle thefts in Nevada in 2022.

This follows a nationwide trend, as their report found that car thefts have increased 13.7% between 2020 and 2022. In 2022, the latest year available for national data, the U.S. experienced 999,188 vehicle thefts…
