Annual Freedom Swim Celebrates Independence Day Tradition in Punta Gorda
PUNTA GORDA, FL – In a longstanding tradition spanning more than three decades, Punta Gorda’s Annual Freedom Swim returns this July 4th, 2024, promising a day of community spirit and aquatic adventure.
Scheduled to commence at 1:30 p.m. from Live Oak Point, participants will gather offshore near the northwest side of the northbound U.S. 41 Bridge before embarking on a scenic journey down the Peace River. The route concludes at Fishermen’s Village, where swimmers will exit the water at Harpoon Harry’s after navigating the river’s gentle currents and scenic vistas.
