North Tonawanda Police provide updates on recent incidents involving teens

NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — North Tonawanda Police are providing updates on recent incidents involving teenagers across the city.

Investigators say they have identified a 14-year-old suspect in connection with vandalism at the Deerwood Country Club on Sweeney Street. According to police, officers were called to the country club on Oct. 26 for reports of damage to the greens, fairways and tee boxes. They say the teen used a dirt bike that caused the damage. The bike was impounded by police and the teen was issued a fine for violating Niagara County’s Off-Road Vehicle Law. Police say this is the teen’s second offense under that law. They are also charged with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. The teen is currently reimbursing the City of North Tonawanda for the damage, police say.

Five people have been identified in connection with damage caused to Halloween decorations across the city on Oct. 27, according to police. Officials say help from the community and social media, they were able to identify the suspects. Police say the five people have paid over $4,000 in restitution for the damage. They are also required to appear in Niagara County Youth Court…
