CHICAGO — A child was hospitalized after he was injured in a shooting on the West Side during rush hour on Friday morning.
Chicago police said the incident began after two cars were involved in a minor traffic crash just before 8:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of North Western Avenue in West Town.
According to police, when one of the drivers involved in the incident got out of their vehicle to exchange information, the other driver displayed a gun and began shooting at the other vehicle.
Officers said amid the gunfire, an 11-year-old boy who was a passenger in the other car suffered a gunshot wound to his hand. He was later transported to the hospital in good condition…
