NY weather: Winter weather advisory affecting Orange and Putnam counties until Saturday midday

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 3:41 a.m. on Friday valid from 9 p.m. until Saturday 11 a.m. for Orange and Putnam counties.

The weather service describes, “Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch.”

“Difficult travel conditions are possible. Slippery conditions are expected on any untreated surfaces,” says the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages. Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions.”
