News 12 spoke with small businesses in the Village of Nyack a day after Christmas to see how the holiday shopping season has been for them. “It’s been a very positive experience,” said Lindsay Owen, the new owner of Maria Luisa Boutique . She has been managing it for the last decade and said this holiday season brought a nearly 10% increase in business year over year. “I think that customers are truly valuing handmade gifts with a soul and a story and pieces that are going to be future heirlooms,” said Owen. Other neighboring small businesses on South Broadway in the village said foot traffic has been slow.
