Today turned out warm and dry as expected since we are on the warm side of the Pacific jet stream. Heavy rain has fallen all day in northern Washington and B.C., remaining well north of our viewing area in Oregon and SW Washington. Skies remain partly cloudy tonight.
We have a “bonus” day coming up tomorrow. We’ve been expecting the tail end of the weather system up north to drag into the region Sunday afternoon. Timing has slowed down, which means rain doesn’t arrive on the coast until midday. In the I-5 corridor from Longview to Eugene, we expect rain to hold off until at least 4pm. That means almost all the daytime hours should be dry and warm again for many of us, including the Portland/Vancouver metro area. Yes, one more day of lower 70s is likely Sunday. The rainy system finally moves inland tomorrow evening through early Monday for maybe ½” of rain, then it’s back to just scattered showers Monday.
