EVERETT & MARYSVILLE, NOV. 14: The northbound State Route 529 Snohomish River Bridge and the Marine View Drive on-ramp is scheduled to reopen Monday, Nov. 18, restoring two lanes of travel in each direction on the highway.
Before the reopening, closures are required beginning tomorrow night, Nov. 15, in order to reopen the NB lanes.
- The single lane of NB SR 529 that uses the southbound bridge will close from 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18
- The southbound SR 529 Snohomish River Bridge will close from 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, to 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, then again from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18.
Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) spent the past five months repainting the 97-year-old bridge. They also rehabilitated the lift mechanism on the draw span, which allows taller marine traffic to continue up the Snohomish River.
“When the bridge reopens, it will restore a vital link for people who walk, bicycle or use mobility devices to travel along the highway between Everett and Marysville,” WSDOT said…
