CHICAGO – Chicago police are warning business owners after a series of burglaries last month on the South Side.

Burglary spree
In each burglary, suspects place a chain on the front shutter or door and pull it off the hinges before stealing ATMs from inside, according to the Chicago Police Department. In some of the burglaries, the suspects were armed with guns.
The burglaries happened at the following times and locations:
- At 4:50 a.m. on Dec. 17 in the 8800 block of South Ashland Avenue in Gresham
- At 4:43 a.m. on Dec. 24 in the 100 block of East 75th Street in Park Manor
- At 5:20 a.m. on Dec. 24 in the 100 block of West 103rd Street in Fernwood
- At 4:46 a.m. on Dec. 25 in the 1600 West 115th Street in Morgan Park
Police said there were between four and eight suspects who were wearing dark-colored clothing such as hoodies and masks.…
