Despite the flash flood warning , downtown San Francisco radiated warmth and joy on Friday afternoon as Macy’s Union Square unveiled its iconic Holiday Windows, featuring furry, adoptable kittens from the San Francisco SPCA .
Along with kittens Angel, Boo, Disco and Inferno and a couple of assisted therapy dogs, local dog influencer Brixton was on the scene, decked out with ornaments, a shiny, festive wreath and reindeer antlers. Angela Ramiro, senior director of shelter operations for the SF SPCA, said that more than 10,000 animals have found homes over the past three decades thanks to this event.
This cherished tradition, now in its 38th year, has once again transformed the corner of Stockton and O’Farrell streets into a sweet spectacle. From Friday, Nov. 22, through Sunday, Dec. 31, visitors can enjoy the display Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Macy’s will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28) and Christmas Day (Dec. 25).
