The Sonoma County Sheriff announced that a high-speedy pursuit resulted in the arrest of a Concord man.
On 1/3/2024 at 3:18 AM, a deputy sheriff was patrolling Highway 12 and Boyes Blvd in Boyes Hot Springs, CA area when a black Ford Focus sedan passed the deputy at a high rate of speed. The deputy caught up to the car and confirmed it was speeding. The deputy attempted to stop the car near the intersection of Hwy 12 and Verano Ave and the driver subsequently led the deputy in a high-speed pursuit. The driver drove recklessly during the pursuit, constantly speeding and running numerous red lights in the process. The driver entered the intersection of Hwy 12 and West Napa St at a high rate of speed and crashed into a traffic signal pole.
The suspect leapt out of the crashed car and ran east on West Napa St towards downtown Sonoma, CA. The deputy chased the suspect along West Napa St approximately 150 yards before catching the suspect and tackling the suspect to the ground.
