He said he wasn’t driving. The jury didn’t buy it. Man convicted of DUI manslaughter in Ocala

When testifying at his DUI manslaughter trial this week, Douglas MacArthur Williams admitted drinking at a party but denied he was the one, later that night, who was driving the pickup truck that slammed into another vehicle, killing a Tampa man and severely injuring his wife.

The crash happened the night of Dec. 15, 2018. Williams said he and a woman had an altercation at the party. He was hit in the head by an object and fell through a window. He said someone put him in the pickup truck’s bed.

Williams, 58, said that was the last memory he had of that day. He woke up in a hospital bed after being in a coma for 34 days…
