DRAPER, Utah (ABC4) — Get ready to “spot” a new animal at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium — a female zebra shark.
The shark, whose name will be decided through a contest, is 3 years old and nearly 6 feet long. You will be able to see her in the 300,000-gallon shark tunnel habitat where she joins four other shark species, two sea turtle species, two ray species, and a variety of fish species.
The aquarium explained that when zebra sharks are young, they have dark bodies with yellowish-white stripes, hence their name. But, the stripes disappear as they grow and are replaced by brownish spots…
