PHOTO COURTESY KATE QUINONES; GETTING READY — Volunteers make ready bags of food to be given to those in need at a food giveaway hosted by Deltona Christian Church and sponsored by the Second Harvest Food Bank Oct. 16. Dozens of cars lined up in the church’s parking lot as food was loaded into the trunks and backs of vehicles. About 300 families received assistance. Those still needing assistance can go to www.FeedHopeNow.org, click the “Find Help?” tab, then select “Food Assistance.” A food-finder tool allows people to type in an address and find Second Harvest partner agencies closest to that location, as well as the operating hours and contact information.
