Pigs, barn lost in Fond du Lac County barn fire as heat lamps a suspected factor

FOND DU LAC COUNTY – The cause of a barn fire on Lost Arrow Road in township of Byron Friday night is under investigation.

The fire was reported by a passerby shortly before 9 p.m. Dec. 13. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said while the cause is still under investigation, numerous heat lamps were inside the barn and are believed to be factors in starting the blaze.

When law enforcement and fire personnel arrived at the scene, the barn was fully engulfed in flames. Fire personnel were able to contain the fire to prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings and propane tanks, but the main structure — a pole shed about 40 feet by 80 feet — is considered a total loss…
