First Warn Forecast: Dense fog this morning leads to a warm and partly sunny afternoon

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – As this morning’s fog burned off, we began to see increased wind mainly out of the southeast. A sustained wind between 10 mph and 15 mph will be common from lunchtime through 3:30 this afternoon with a few occasions of gusts producing up to 20 mph wind. Temperatures will continue to climb moderately peeking late this afternoon between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. at a range between 52° and 55°. Partly cloudy conditions are expected however, a quick increase in cloud cover will move into the area towards the evening as a weak front passes through the region. There’s a small opportunity for isolated drizzle or shower activity to occur mainly in our eastern and southeastern counties between the hours of 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. tonight.

Temperatures will fall back to the middle 30s for tomorrow morning with partly cloudy skies expected for the kids heading off to school or parents heading off to work. We will build into a dryer pattern on Monday with highs remaining in the 50s, but yet another front will pass through by Tuesday. This one is just as weak as tonight’s expected front; however, an isolated drizzle or showers are now possible around the metro within the early evening Tuesday exiting by early morning Wednesday.

Unfortunately, this front will pull through colder breeze air conditions for Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures are expected to only reach into the upper 30s with occasional gusts around 25 mph making it feel more like we’re in the upper teens and lower 20s for much of the day…
