Ventura County residents showed their creativity, drive and resilience in the pages of the Ventura County Reporter during 2024. We featured the stories of inspirational nonprofit leaders supporting a wide range of important causes, preserving the Santa Clara and Ventura river valleys, advocating for a vibrant and diverse creative community through Ventura ArtWalk and conserving historical artifacts from the Channel Islands at the $7.6 million Chrisman California Islands Center.
Cultural, sports and artistic leaders brought us exciting events including the Ventura Music Festival, X Games Ventura 2024 and Oxnard Salsa Festival. We also saw individuals and organizations rise to the occasion in times of trouble, such as when the Ventura County Community Foundation collected donations for Port Hueneme residents with flooded homes at the start of the year, and then again for people whose homes burned down in the Mountain Fire as the year concluded.
