Residents in Cleveland and surrounding areas are navigating a mix of weather conditions today, as experts at the National Weather Service (NWS) have laid out a dynamic forecast. With a warm front lifting across today and a cold front chasing it down tonight into Monday, there’s a bit of everything in store for northeastern Ohioans and northwestern Pennsylvanians. An advisory was in effect for dense fog across interior northwest Pennsylvania until 9 AM this morning. Forecasters warn of showers and thunderstorms overnight into early Monday, which could interrupt the string of hot weather with highs in the 80s that some areas have been experiencing. However, NWS noted, “the severe weather risk is low.” This system isn’t expected to dent the ongoing drought, with total precipitation predicted to be less than half an inch by Monday evening.

While Ohioans might have been hoping for a substantial downpour, any rainfall seems far from a drought solution. The NWS predicts “scattered in coverage” rain showers Monday night, a trend that continues through the earlier part of the week, with “rain chances” hanging around and temperatures hovering back to seasonal averages in the 70s…
