PALMDALE — Palmdale Water District customers will see their rates increase after the board of directors on Monday unanimously approved a plan to increase revenues up to 11% annually over the next five years.
The plan increases district revenues by 11% in 2025 and 2026, 9% in 2027 and 2028 and 8% in 2029, the final year.
To achieve these increased revenues, customers will see rate hikes for their water use. The average residential customer will see their fixed rate — which all customers pay regardless of how much water is used — increase by 12%, from $54.43 to $60.75 monthly in 2025. The water usage rate — which covers the cost of the actual water used — will increase from $1.08 to $1.31 per hundred cubic feet (748 gallons) for the Tier 1 essential usage, which will be reduced from 55 gallons per person per day to 50 gallons per person per day.
