DENVER — Walgreens plans to close three Colorado stores next month as the company works to strengthen its balance sheet.
9NEWS confirmed with the company on Tuesday that it will close three locations in February in Denver and Aurora:
- 12051 E. Mississippi Ave., Aurora (at South Peoria Street)
- 15301 E. Iliff Ave., Aurora (at South Chambers Road)
- 3555 Colorado Blvd., Denver (at East 36th Avenue)
Walgreens provided a statement that said the company faces increased regulatory and reimbursement pressures that weigh on its ability to cover the costs of rent, staffing and supply needs.
“It is never an easy decision to close a store,” according to the statement. “We know that our stores are important to the communities that we serve, and therefore do everything possible to improve the store performance.”…
