Celtic-Old Time Jam brings Irish folk music to Athens

If you are a fan of Celtic music but don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on a plane ticket to Ireland, visit the West End Ciderhouse and Distillery at 234 W. Washington St. and experience a Celtic-Old Time Jam session.

Held every Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the Celtic-Old Time Jam session was started during the late 1980s by notable Celtic guitarist and singer Ged Foley. An English native from County Durham, Foley moved to Athens in 1989. Foley was a member of the “Battlefield Band,” a Scottish traditional music group, and a founding member of “The House Band.”…
