Cold and damp end to the week

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – The cold weather is settling in as we get ready to head into the weekend. Drier weather will be making a return soon, but unfortunately, our Friday is going to be on the damp side. We will start off this morning with a few snow flurries. Some of us may need to get out to the car earlier to clear off a layer of snow that built up through the overnight hours. For others, it will be waiting for the warm air to kick on in the car. Make sure to bundle up as temperatures will be starting in the low 30s and only slowly climbing up to the low 40s for this afternoon.

No more snow is in store for this afternoon. We will see moisture filter in to bring us light rain, but we will be well above freezing. Looking at the higher elevations towards our east, snow will be continuing for them. Any light accumulation on the grass will quickly melt away. Even as we head into tonight, temperatures will remain steady and above freezing. We will not see below freezing temperatures return until Tuesday night of next week…
