Kylie Conley leads Patriots past Big Reds, 9-1

PARKERSBURG — A four-run third was more than enough for winning pitcher Kylie Conley here on a cold Friday evening at Don Godbey Fields as host Parkersburg South topped rival Parkersburg, 9-1, in six innings as the right-hander allowed just four hits versus her former team in a complete game effort.

Big Red leadoff hitter Brynn Frye did most of the damage for first-year head coach Erica Cameron, who watched her shortstop go 2 for 3 with a run-scoring three-bagger in the top of the fifth.

Conley allowed a single in the fourth to first baseman Krista Durkin, who hit a lined shot at the ex-Big Reds’ face for the first out in the sixth. PHS cleanup hitter and catcher Gabby Dennis had a leadoff single to center in the second while Frye had the only other hit with an infield single to shortstop in the third…
