More frigid weather is on the way

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – We were able to thaw out a little bit across the Mid-Ohio Valley Monday, but more frigid weather is on the way. Yes, it is going to be a lot colder than the teens we are dealing with this morning. We will look at breezy conditions with winds up to 10 to 15 mph. This will keep our wind chill in the single digit this morning and the teens in the afternoon. Make sure to bundle up with extra layers, gloves, and a hat before heading out the door.

We will be looking at a few snow showers rolling through the Mid-Ohio Valley this afternoon. This will mostly be light to moderate snow. Accumulation is going to be on the light side with up to an inch of snow in a few spots once this is all done by the evening commute. The snow is likely to stick to the ground, so we will see some slick spots on the roads as people head home from work this evening.

Skies will clear through the overnight hours. This will help push our temperatures down into the single digit. It will not be as windy through tonight, but winds around 5 to 10 mph will still be around. This will be enough to push our wind chill down to a bit below 0. With it being this cold, make sure to check on pets when you let them outside and make sure to not leave them out for too long…
