Alice Rosaline “Rose” Nutter, 88, of Cairo, WV, departed this life Thursday, October 3, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on December 6, 1935 in Harrisville, WV, a daughter of the late Lindsey Sherman and Ola Vance (Layfield) Tibbs.
Rose graduated Cairo High School with the class of 1954. After graduation she went to work for the Harrisville Garment Factory. She was a homemaker. Rose had a green thumb and loved gardening; she had beautiful vegetable and flower gardens that she tended. Additionally, she loved riding her lawn mower, taking walks on Rail Trail, loved her cats, taking care of her family, and would do anything for her kids and grandkids. She was known for her extremely kind heart and liked to cook and bake big dinners for her family and friends. She often went camping and traveled West Virginia with her husband…
