PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Happy Thanksgiving! For those who will be staying home and spending time with family, enjoy the day! For those who are traveling this morning to get to a friend or family’s place, be mindful of the rain this morning. Luckily, it is only going to be an issue this morning. The rain will move out of the Mid-Ohio Valley after 8 a.m. this morning. This will not impact the Parkersburg Turkey Trot, but roads and sidewalks will still be wet when the event starts at 9 a.m. Afterwards, it is just going to be a cloudy day across the region. It is also going to be cold with highs this afternoon in the low 40s, but a breeze around 10 to 15 mph will keep our wind chill in the 30s.
As we move through the holiday weekend, there is not going to be any more rain moving in. So, those who will be traveling back from Thanksgiving will have no issues on the roads. However, if you are spending anytime outside, you are going to feel the very cold weather that we will be stuck with over the next several days.
Temperatures Friday will be in mid-30s, and we will keep that through the weekend. Overnight lows will then dip down into the 20s to even the upper teens. Make sure to bundle up in layers if you will be outside at all this weekend. This is especially the case for those who will be watching the Merry-Etta or Belpre Christmas parade. Make sure you also have the scarf, gloves, and hat with you…
