Storms expected on July 4th in WV, KY and OH

(WOWK) — Showers and storms are expected in the 13 News viewing area on the 4th of July. Luckily the rain won’t last all day and there is a good chance that most of the showers will be done during the evening at fireworks display time (around 10 p.m. in most areas).

Storms on Thursday the 4th should start in the northern part of the area and drift to the south. It will be hot still and the storms could grow in intensity in the afternoon in particular as they move from about I-64 into southern West Virginia and southeastern Kentucky. Some storms may produce strong downburst type winds and a few could even produce locally heavy rain that causes temporary street flooding in spots.
