A funeral service for former President Jimmy Carter will take place Thursday at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. He will later be laid to rest in Georgia.
President Joe Biden declared Thursday a day of mourning for Carter, who died in his hometown of Plains, Georgia, on Dec. 29 at the age of 100. The day brings a few closures, including the stock market and federal offices.
