Eleven former Houston Police Department officers, previously connected to the controversial 2019 Harding Street raid that left two civilians dead, have found themselves re-indicted on charges of engaging in organized criminal activity. Among these former officers is Gerald Goines, who was recently convicted of felony murder related to the deaths of Rhogena Nicholas and Dennis Tuttle and sentenced to 60 years in prison, as FOX 26 Houston reports.
In total, the officers indicted include Gerald Goines, Sgt. Thomas Wood, Oscar Pardo, Nadeem Ashraf, Frank Medina, Clemente Reyna, Griff Maxwell, Steven Bryant, Hodgie Armstrong, Cedell Lovings, and Felipe Gallegos, each slated to appear in court on Friday. This re-indictment comes after an initial indictment was tossed out, due to defense claims of vagueness, per ABC13. This time, the charges stem from an alleged overtime scheme in which the officers are accused of collaborating to fake their hours, claiming at least $30,000 and, but less than $150,000 in unearned wages from the city of Houston.
