Escambia sheriff helps distribute Thanksgiving Day meals to feed 300 families

Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons and members of the community helped distribute Thanksgiving Day meals to 300 families over the weekend.

Simmons, along with Rep. Michelle Salzman and other local partners, helped Marcus Pointe Baptist Church give away enough meals to help feed hundreds of families during the holiday celebration.

“This ensured that a minimum of 300 families received a Thanksgiving Day meal, fostering a sense of belonging, gratitude and hope,” the ECSO said.
