Here’s something you won’t hear often: it’s snowing in Florida! The historic winter storm barreling down on the South is now bringing snow to the Sunshine State.
Pensacola, FL, “recorded 7.6 inches, surpassing its 2.3-inch record from 1954,” while Milton, FL, “had a preliminary total of 8.8 inches, potentially breaking the state-wide snow record,” CNN reported.
Scenes of snow-covered palm trees and beaches are going viral. In an X post, the chief meteorologist at WTOL wrote that the snow is “covering the white sandy beaches of Destin, Florida. It’s so cold, extremely rare “Arctic Sea Smoke” or steam fog is visible over the warm gulf waters!”
