Florida Inmate Picks Up 20 Years For Threatening Federal Judges, U.S. Marshals, And Prosecutors

A Florida inmate who repeatedly sent letters threatening to kill federal judges, U.S. Marshals, and prosecutors was sentenced to an additional 20 years in prison. Michael Dean Drew, 51, received the sentence during a hearing in Miami on August 19, marking his sixth conviction for sending threatening communications to federal officials.

Drew, who had previously been sentenced five times for similar offenses, sent a series of threatening letters from state prison in 2023, targeting federal judges, Assistant U.S. Attorneys, and federal law enforcement officers. His 240-month sentence will run consecutively to the sentence he is already serving…
