Florida Power and Light crews preparing for Hurricane Helene relief efforts

PENSACOLA, Fla. ( WKRG ) — As many Florida communities brace for Hurricane Helene, crews with Florida Power and Light are ready to respond.

Utility trucks and linemen arrived on Wednesday at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds, checking in and hearing safety briefings as they prepare to step in when hurricane Helene makes landfall.

Helene now a Hurricane, entering Gulf of Mexico

Florida Power and Light and its partners will be working to restore power following the storm.

“We know that some of these regions are experiencing yet another storm even when they’re not fully recovered from the previous one,” FPL spokesperson Sarah Gatewood said. “So we are doing everything we can to make sure that should our customers lose power; we can get the lights back on for them safely and as quickly as possible.”…
