Indian River County emergency centers activate, shelters open ahead of Milton’s landfall

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The Indian River County Sheriff joined emergency personnel on Tuesday afternoon to provide updates on Hurricane Milton.

Milton is currently a powerful category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph. Milton is expected to weaken to a category 3 before landfall Wednesday night.
