PEORIA (25News Now) – Keep the rain gear handy as wet and windy weather continues for the start of the work week. Lingering showers will continue out the door this morning before we see a bit of a break from the widespread rain during the mid to late morning. Rain chances will gradually increase yet again during the afternoon into the evening during which widespread showers and a few thunderstorms are expected. Gusts up to 30 miles per hour are possible throughout the day, which may further reduce visibility in any downpour. Rain chances will continue into the first half of Election Day before the rain comes to an end. If you plan on heading out to the polls tomorrow morning, keep the umbrella on standby.
