Broome out for Mississippi State game: Pearl “We’re still a really good team”

Auburn forward Johni Broome will not play Tuesday night against Mississippi State. An MRI on his ankle Sunday determined it was a sprain which did not need surgery, but the timetable on his return isn’t certain. The Tigers are truly taking this situation one game at a time.

“Johni won’t play tomorrow against Mississippi State,” Tigers Head Coach Bruce Pearl said. “But we’re still a really good team. So we’ll prepare without him.”

Broome injured his left ankle when he came down on Chaney Johnson’s foot while playing defense in the second half of Auburn’s game at South Carolina. The Tigers managed to win 66-63, playing without Broome for the final 13 minutes and change, but the competition in the next three games ramps up…
