Central Bucks Using Cameras to Catch Drivers Illegally Passing Stopped School Buses

Two communities have announced that they’ll work with the Central Bucks School District to stop drivers from illegally passing stopped school buses.

DOYLESTOWN, PA—Several local communities have announced that they’re working with the Central Bucks School District to crack down on drivers who fail to stop for school buses picking up and dropping off students.

The district announced in August of this year that it is now using cameras on school buses to catch vehicles illegally passing stopped school buses. The cameras come from BusPatrol, a company that specializes in technology to make school buses safer.

Plumstead and Warrington townships this week announced that they’ll work with the school district to prosecute drivers who are caught illegally passing school buses by the cameras. Statements from both townships said their police departments will work with the district to review video footage from cameras on school buses…
