Many teams would take a knee with 21 seconds left in the first half, but Warren Easton decided to keep its foot on the gas in a Week 3 matchup against Slidell on Friday night.
Easton (2-1) led 14-0 when it got the ball back deep in its own territory in the closing seconds before half. A 50-yard run by quarterback Carl Reed sparked a scoring drive to put Easton up by 21, which was all it needed in a 21-0 road victory.
After Reed’s long run, he found running back Thomas Vaughn on a 25-yard touchdown pass to give Easton the three-score lead on a night it was without coach Jerry Phillips…
