When the COVID-19 pandemic canceled Jennifer Kimpe and Jeanne-Marie Hebert’s trip to Ireland in 2020, the friends decided to hit the road instead — leaving miles of shared conversation in their wake.
“We were having the same conversation everyone else was having — what’s next after the world opens up again,” said Hebert, who met Kimpe 20 years ago as Oakland neighbors. “Our kids were leaving for college and we were still young and healthy. What did we want to do?”
