Contract talks between Albany Medical Center and the New York State Nurses Association remain at an impasse after the two sides failed to reach an agreement on a “final” proposal offered by the hospital.
The union rejected a contract from Albany Med that includes a base pay raise of 25-34% over the next three years, hospital President and CEO Dennis McKenna said.
McKenna accused the union of not bringing the contract to a vote because it keeps the hospital an open shop, meaning nurses don’t have to join the union. The two sides have been negotiating for more than six months…
