Bobwhites edge Lakers; Justin Munger leads BFA with 13 points

The BFA-St. Albans Bobwhites boys’ basketball team earned a tight victory at home against the visiting Colchester Lakers on Monday, Dec. 30. It was an exciting night of basketball that saw Justin Munger drop two impressive dunks, firing up the crowd and helping the Bobwhites earn a 44-41 victory.

The Lakers won the tip, but the Bobwhites kicked off the scoring on a layup from Gabe Howrigan. With the teams tied at four, Colchester seized the early advantage on a three-pointer from Aiden Brown.

Tripp Rabtoy converted a layup on the other end to pull the Bobwhites closer, and after another Colchester basket, Davion Jones knocked down a jumper from behind the arc for BFA to tie the game at nine. The Lakers led 11-9 after the first quarter.

BFA came out firing in the second quarter with back-to-back baskets by Evan Gauthier, who gave them a 14-13 lead early. Ryan Lockerby put in a hard-fought basket from the paint for BFA, drawing the foul and the And-1 opportunity, which he converted, extending the Bobwhite lead to four…
