WILMINGTON, N.Y. – Vermont ski enters day two of the St. Lawrence Carnival in fifth place after day one saw just the men’s and women’s alpine teams compete in the GS race from Wilmington, NY on Whiteface Mountain. UVM’s women alpine squad earned the third highest number of points in their respective race as three Vermont women skiers placed top 12 on the day.

In the women’s alpine GS race, Linn Hansson Liedholm finished in seventh place, a Catamount best on the day and her best GS race placement on the season thus far, racing for a two-run time of 2:16.90. Justine Clément finished right behind Liedholm in eighth place, having raced a two-run time 2:16.92. On Clement’s second run, between the first and second sector, Clement had the fastest time, shredding almost eight seconds off her run in between sectors securing her a top 10 finish for the GS race, her first top 10 finish of the season for the GS. Hanna Larsson Nathhorst finished 11th for Vermont, adding key points for the Catamounts racing to a two-run time of 2:17.20.
