CHAZY | Spooky sheds with creaky floors and twisted paths through creepy woods hold some scary surprises at Bumpkins Halloween. The second annual event on property owned by Shane Dutil in Chazy is ready for ghouls, gallows and treat seekers of every age.
Dutil creates the array of displays with a handful of dedicated volunteers and opens the haunted hollow for 10 days leading up to Halloween. Festival days help raise money to support community causes.
On Friday night, Oct. 18, Dutil set evening hours aside for people and children with developmental disabilities, leaving out most of the scream, howl and flashing lights. Proceeds from admission benefited the North Country Autism Alliance and Thera-Pets Inc., a local small animal farm that supports the well-being for adults and children with special needs…
